When worn, it grants the ability to blend into shadows, enhancing the wearer’s stealth and evasion when in dim light or darkness.
Once per long rest, the wearer can activate the cloak as a bonus action to enter a state of resplendent shadows for up to 10 minutes. During this time, they gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks and are considered lightly obscured even while in plain sight. Additionally, they can use a bonus action to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space they can see that is within dim light or darkness.
While in this state, however, the cloak exudes a soft, shimmering light that reveals the wearer’s position. Any creature within 30 feet can perceive their presence, and they lose any benefits of being unseen for the duration.
The cloak also has a quirky side effect: those who wear it are often seen by animals and spirits as beings of fascination and wonder. Animals may approach the wearer with curiosity, and spirits or fey beings are more inclined to offer guidance or speak with them during their adventures.
If the wearer is ever reduced to 0 hit points while in the cloak’s enhanced state, the cloak instantly releases a wave of shimmering light, resurrecting them with 1 hit point instead and remaining dormant for 24 hours after this effect.
